To create silhouettes of your near and dear ones, start by posing them in front of a white backdrop, such as a bedsheet or wall, then photographing their profile. Print the image in a size that fits your bisqueware, and cut out.
Next, use tissue paper and position a light source behind the picture for sharp contrast. Trace the image onto the tissue paper; cut out. Position the silhouette on the bisque and trace with a pen or pencil (remember marker and pencil will burn off in the kiln). Now you are ready to paint!
Tip: You can add details inside the silhouette by leaving parts white, add a few curls or outline of a bow or headband.
